Myofascial Decompression (Cupping Therapy)

What is dry cupping therapy and how does it work?

Cupping is an ancient healing therapy that some people use to ease pain, it has been used for thousands of years.

Your therapist will place plastic suction cups on your body and use a pump to remove the air, creating a vacuum to pull the skin and connective tissue upwards.

How does cupping work?

Experts are still exploring how cupping eases pain and disease symptoms and more research is continually being done into this treatement.

Simply put, suction from cupping draws fluid into the treated area. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under the skin.

Your body treats the cupping area like an injury. It sends more blood to the area to stimulate the natural healing process. Some people theorize that cupping clears the pores and releases toxins.

Whilst the cups may feel and look a little strange, the effect of the treatment is amazing!

What is fire cupping therapy and how does it work?

Fire cupping uses the same principles as dry cupping, but rather than using a suction pump to create the vacuum, the therapist will use glass cups and heat to create the vaccume. This results in a warm and relaxing experience with excellent theraputic benefits as with dry cupping.
